Filtration is either directly or indirectly involved in water
treatment, being in some cases the only treatment needed or the first stage of a more
complex system.
The growth of new filtration materials has
introduced new application in deferrisation and potabilization.
SCOPE OF
THE TREATMENT:
- Removal of suspended matters, together with organical matters
turbidity, by filtartion through quartzite, anthracite or activated carbon beds.
- Reduction of iron and manganese contents by zeolite or activated
pyrolusite.
- Removal of pesticides and chlorine derivative in drinkable water by
means of activated carbons.
APPLICATIONS:
- Water treatment for civil and industrial use.
- Pre-treatment in ion exchange or reverse osmosis installations.
- Refining clarified water streaming from clarification-flocculation
stations.
